Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, it really does make a difference. Hydrating scalp treatments and gentle, sulphate-free cleansers are helpful and you could also add a gentle scalp exfoliation into your routine once or twice a month. Another reason for a dry/flaky scalp can be a build up of products, such as dry shampoo and hairspray, try to avoid the root as much as possible and make sure to gently scrub the scalp when shampooing. Finally an oil massaged to the scalp 30 prior to shampooing can add a little extra moisture boost.

Oily Scalp – Overwashing or hormonal changes can trigger excess oil. Scalp balancing shampoos can help.

Itchy Scalp – Might be product or mineral build up, dryness, or sensitivity. Detox treatments and moisturising oils soothe irritation, I would advise to have your scalp looked at with a scalp scope to assess what the problem is and be advised with the best products to use.

Thinning Hair – Poor scalp health can slow growth. Stimulating scalp massages and nourishment boost circulation, and a clear scalp gives a great foundation for healthy hair growth.

Sensitive, Red Scalp – May react to heat or certain ingredients. Look for soothing calming, fragrance-free products (also anything with Aloe can give pretty much instant relief) You could cool down the heat on the hairdryer and be a little more gentle when shampooing and brushing.

If you’re unsure what your scalp needs, let our team help — a professional scalp consultation is a game-changer!
